Frequently Asked Questions
Will I Get A Mockup? Could I Make Any Edits?
Yes! Within 3–7 business days I will send you a rough sketch
This is the stage for major changes, such as:
pose
cropping
background placement
facial proportions
adding/removing accessories
I'll then send you a photo of the completed painting for approval. At that stage, you may request up to two minor revisions at no additional cost, such as small adjustments to colors, markings, or other details. Once you've approved the artwork, no further changes can be made. If you'd like significant changes after approval, additional fees may apply.
minor revision examples-
brighten the eyes
darken the nose
adjust fur color slightly
make a marking more defined
major revision examples-
changing the pose
replacing the background
adding another pet
using different reference photos
repainting large portions of the artwork
How Long Do These Take?
It depends on the size and background intricacy chosen. The smallest size, 8x10 takes me about 2 weeks. Maybe 3 for a complicated background. But a larger piece would take longer.
If you need your artwork sooner, I do offer a rush fee for 25% added to any size painting for a one week turnaround. And 50% for a 4 day turnaround.
Why Acrylic? Could You Use Oil?
Due to the extensive drying process, as well as the fumes that come from it, oil is not the best paint for me!
Acrylic is used a LOT in abstraction and experimental artwork, less with realistic portraits... But, Hyper-realists like Chuck Close have definitely demonstrated that you can achieve realism with an amazing level of detail quickly.
Its fast drying time allows me to complete a work in layers without having to wait days or weeks in between. My portraits can be completed within a 2 week period, instead of months. source- https://maseda-art.com/en/versatility-in-art-exploring-the-world-of-acrylic-painting
What Kinds Of Pets Can You Paint?
I can paint absolutely any animal you have! Lizard, fish, rat, you name it, I can paint it!
Can I Include Multiple Of My Pets?
If you have a reference photo of 2 or more of your pets together, then yes! ($0 extra charge)
Multiple photos of multiple pets combined into one artwork ($5 customization fee)
(It does take a lot more work to combine references but ultimately creates a much more one-of-a-kind artwork!)

Background
Hi, I'm Emily
I made my first pet painting for a family member and loved the process of capturing the personality and spirit of their dogs on canvas, and seeing how meaningful it was to them made me want to keep creating.
Since then, I’ve continued painting pets for others, turning special memories into lasting artwork. Each portrait is carefully hand-painted with attention to detail, with the goal of not just recreating a photo, but bringing your pet’s unique character to life.
Besides drawing my entire life, I attended Ohio University for Fine Art in 2020. With a big focus on portraiture in my work, Iv'e spent a lot of time learning how to really see details, color, texture, and the small things that capture the subjects spirit.
